A river rending, never ending
The ground asunder, never mending
In the depths, a sound of thunder
Dark with blight, no light down under
Unaware, no chance for sight
Long forgotten, but bereft of fright
Wrapped in cloth, as soft as cotton
With tragic folly, my bones are rotten
But I know, I’m more than body
Something more, something godly
So I go, to that distant shore
Where my soul’s at peace forevermore
