“That Moment” by Erin Sprague

Something magical about that instant
When your eyes meet on stage
When your spirit is uplifted
By someone else’s passion

Something precious about that second
When you understand
That you’re in perfect tandem
That you both are drowning in the music

Something enchanting about that moment
When the audience draws in a breath
And your own very heart stops
And all is suspended in time

Something just heartbreaking about that minute
When you strike your finishing pose
And run lightly away with applause on your heels
Knowing that it’s over and done.
